3:30 Galway: BOYLE Sports Shop At Galway Racecourse Beginners Steeplechase

Captain Ryan Matt Darragh O'Keeffe · Henry de Bromhead

Captain Ryan Matt was a winner two starts back and a fourth last time out, with a third three starts back also in the book, and he has run on today's going before. However, 179 days off is a long absence and 166 lb is a hefty burden, while our rating of 125 puts him fifth of nine.

Chart Topper Danny Mullins · W. P. Mullins

Chart Topper showed his hand when third last time out and has run over today's trip and going before, while carrying 166 lb and ranked second of nine on our rating. The one concern is a 178-day absence, plus a fell and a pulled up in his last five starts.

Kainsbourg Jordan Gainford · Gordon Elliott

Kainsbourg showed solid form earlier, winning four starts back and finishing a second three starts back, but he was pulled up last time out and returns after 122 days off, which is a concern. Carrying 166 lb, he sits sixth of nine on our rating.

Karl Des Tourelles Sean Flanagan · Philip Fenton

Karl Des Tourelles has been consistent without a win, with a fourth five starts back and a sixth last time out, and he has run on today's going before. Our rating has him top of the nine, though 159 days off and 166 lb is the main risk.

Minella Sixo Harry Sexton(7) · R K Watson

Minella Sixo is back quickly after just six days, and he has run on today's going before, while a second four starts back shows he can bridge the gap. Yet to win in his last five, he carries 166 lb off 133, but the overall profile makes him our pick.

Road To Home Brian Hayes · W. P. Mullins

Road To Home arrives with a third last time out and a second two starts back, and he has run over today's trip and on this going before. The main risk is a 164-day absence, though he is yet to win in his last five and carries 166 lb.

Some Song Mike O'Connor · Henry de Bromhead

Some Song is hard to fancy, having finished a sixth two starts back and been pulled up three starts back, with his only win four starts back. He did take a fourth last time out, is fresh enough after 16 days, and has run over today's trip, but 166 lb is a big burden.

Timesareachanging Philip Donovan · A. Slattery

Absent 171 days and beaten into fifth last time out, he is hard to fancy carrying 166 lb, though a second two starts back, a third before that and a win four starts back show he can go close, and he has run over today's trip. Our rating of 110 ranks him eighth of nine.

Westoftignes Keith Donoghue · Gavin Cromwell

Unplaced last time out after a win two starts back, Westoftignes returns from 71 days off with a stable going cold (2/45 in the last 14 days) and top weight of 166 lb, which makes him hard to fancy. He has run over today's trip and going before, and our rating has him ninth of nine.
